Maspalomas plus

Industry: Digital Media / Online Newspaper
Type of Work: Website Redesign & Facebook Ads Campaign
Website: maspalomasplus.com

🧩 Overview

Maspalomas Plus is a local digital newspaper that covers news and events from Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, and national updates across Spain. The publication needed a modern redesign to improve user experience and boost its online presence through Meta (Facebook) advertising.

💼 My Role & Scope of Work

The client’s website was outdated, slow, and not mobile responsive. My role was to completely redesign the site, optimize usability, and implement a Meta Ads campaign to increase traffic and social reach.

  • Redesigned the entire website using WordPress + Elementor, giving it a fresh, elegant, and user-friendly layout.

  • Focused on mobile responsiveness, improved loading speed, and enhanced navigation.

  • Applied consistent branding throughout the site — including color palette, headings, buttons, and typography.

  • Reorganized all news categories and subcategories for better readability and SEO structure.

  • Configured Yoast SEO for optimized page indexing and meta structure.

📈 Facebook Ads Campaign

To address declining traffic and low social engagement, I created and managed a Facebook Ads campaign from May to October 2025, focused on:

  • Increasing page followers and engagement.

  • Driving qualified traffic to the website through promoted news posts.

  • Targeting local audiences in Maspalomas and Gran Canaria, using interest-based and geographic targeting.

🔧 Tools & Platforms Used

  • WordPress, Elementor, Astra Theme, Yoast SEO

  • Meta Ads Manager (Facebook & Instagram)

🌟 Results / Achievements

The redesign and advertising strategy delivered measurable results:

  • +30% website traffic growth within 6 months after launch.

  • 7.46K clicks in the last 6 months (via Google Analytics).

  • Facebook page followers grew from 2,900 to 6,182 — an impressive 113% increase in 6 months.

  • Improved brand credibility and audience engagement through cleaner UX and better content visibility.
